The central part of the ski comprises a sheet of light alloy metal, or a mixture of glass fibres impregnated with epoxy resin. This sheet has undulations or corrugations, and the plane of these corrugations is perpendicular to the longitudinal plane of the ski. The material, its thickness, number and type of corrugations can be chosen to provide the required characteristics. The upper and lower working surfaces are positioned each side of the central sheet and the spaces between are filled with an expanded cellular material; composition, density and injection pressure each side may be varied to give a range of working characteristics.
