Protected house finishing decorative batten - with rear self-adhesive layer and detachable protective strip

The ornamental batten (1) used in house decoration and finishing, is rigid and made of wood or plastic and may be smooth, structured or contoured on the visible side. A self-adhesive layer (4) is applied to its rear side (2), and this is provided with a protective strip (3) which can easily be peeled off. The self-adhesive layer can be set on an adhesive strip which adheres on both sides, its width being less than that of the batten. This obviates the damage of the batten splitting or coming apart under waxing or shrinkage, and simplifies the process of fixing it in place, with no need for careful brushing on of glue which might damage the wall paint or wallpaper.
