In apparatus for mfg. a spherical plastic container by enveloping a mould with windings of synthetic resin impregnated strands or bands of fibres, the mould is gripped at one side by a drive to rotate it on a principal and a secondary axis, the angular alignment of which at their points of intersection at the centre of the mould body, can be varied relatively to the stationary fibre strand or band feeder. The drive stands on a base (6) vertically below the centre point of the mould. The base (6) also supports the drive for rotating the mould body around the principal axis (4); the drive (2) for the rotation around a secondary, horizontal or inclined axis (5) being supported at the end of a rail (12) curved into an arc of a circle subtending 90 degrees, the centre point of which coincides with the point of intersection (26) of the two axes. For the angular displacement of the two axes relatively to each other, the rail (12) can be displaced lengthways on the main axis drive, by means of an auxiliary drive (3) and the fibre strand or band feeding plane is at the same height as the intersecting point of the two axes.
