Automatic magnetic data reader - rapidly reads magnetic tracks on coin-sized information disc

An automatic reader for information carriers in the form of discs of coin size, provided with a centering hole and one or more tracks carrying magnetically recorded information, the discs being introduced into the machine, the information read, and the discs returned, all within a short time. The disc is inserted in an opening to a holder, from stops to hold the disc, so that it partly projects to permit the centering peg to be inserted. A drive dog then revolves the disc so that the magnetic track can be read by an adjacent magnetic head; the head is then withdrawn from the disc, the centering peg withdrawn and the disc released.
