Centrifugal single-stage pump without packing box, contains an equaliser for axial forces acting on the rotor. A runner wheel is seated on the shaft and has two discs with vanes between them, and each disc has an annular sealing projection. The force equaliser has two partitions, fitted in the spaces between the inner end faces of the pump housing and the discs of the runner wheel. Each sealing projection contains an annular groove lying on the outer surface, pref. at the floor of the discs; with axial thrust action when the rotor is displaced, a braking flow of liquid is caused, to brake the liquid stream in the chanel between the disc of the runner wheel and the partition.
