Method for the oxidation of alcohols to the corresponding aldehydes and ketones, particularly suitable for oxidising alcohols in the presence of hindered alcohols such as the 11-hydroxy group in steroids, which is unaffected. Procedure is particularly suitable for allylic alcohols in the presence of hindered alcohol groups.
