The preventer for rectal or haemorrhoidal prolapse has a cup-shaped curved surface for abutment on the body. The support face has a passage opening, of dia. equal to that of the relaxed anus, and an outward-facing pipe adjoined to the hollow side of the support face at the opening, with an inner dia. at least equal to that of the opening. Preferably the device is integral and of plastics. The length of the pipe is at least equal to the thickness of the index or middle finger, and the pipe has an annular outer bead at the end remote from the support surface. Defecation without prolapse is facilitated.
