The windowless closure of the low pressure volume against a normal or high pressure volume is intended for a laser resonator with high energy laser radioan. In front of the laser resonator aperture (12) is located on the outlet side a stopper (31) of a gas with a high transparency in a pressure reduction tube (20). The tube opening (23) has devices preventing the formation of a laminar boundary layer flow. The pressure reduction tube carries a pump (22) branch (21). Preferably a gas supply source (30) is provided in front of the outer opening (23) for generation of the gas stopper. Nitrogen may be used to form the gas stopper.
