Safety circuit for wire guided projectile control crew - suppresses static electricity by Zener diodes and resistors

The arrangement is used for protecting launching personnel against electrostatic charge for example due to lighting, on firing of wire guided missiles. The twin core cable used for transmitting of guiding signals from a ground station to the missible is used as a phantom conductor for compensating currents generated by electrostatic charging. The discharge currents are diverted harmlessly and without affecting the guiding operations. - Both cores of the connecting cable are connected in the projectile by series connected Zener diodes which are used for symmetrical diverting of current surges from the overvoltage conductor which is connected to the projectile body into the cable cores. The resistors which connect these cores to earth are connected in parallel to the conductors which limit the overvoltages in the cable cores.
