The opposing jaws partly envelop the small side of the tool holder, held together by a through-bolt, resting against the tapered sides of the wedge to press the wedge against the small side of the holder and keep it from sliding sideways. A hydraulic motor is mounted on a traverse which is guided by vertical rods. This traverse also supports the holder for the triangular shaped cutting wedges. Spiral springs encircle the sections of the vertical guide rods below the base of the traverse.
