A draw-bar is pivot-mounted on a vertical axle at the front end. A hydraulic cylinder bolted to the machine chassis is for moving the draw-bar sideways. The back axle with its land-wheels pivots on a vertical axle on the chassis. Another hydraulic cylinder bolted to the chassis adjusts the back axle. The top-lopping devices are positioned behind and to the side of each other and consist of feeler-wheels and cutter-blades beneath them and/or lifting shares. In front of the top-lopping devices are feelers which steer the machine in relation to the rows. Beside the lifting shares are sieve wheels for conveying and cleaning the lifted crop. The feeler for the front top-lopping device controls, through electrical switches and hydraulic units, the hydraulic cylinder for moving the draw-bar, whereas the feeler following it controls the cylinder moving the back axle.
