In a machine for cutting up foam matl., partic. foam plastic waste from the furniture, bed or clothing industries, consisting of at least two associated cutter rolls with oppositely driven cutter shafts on which overlapping cutting discs sepd. by distance rings as well as the associated strippers are mounted, the latter take the form of stripper rings supported with radial play on the distance rings and have an internal dia. greater than the external dia. of these and an outer dia. equal to that of the cutter discs. More esp., the stripper rings are constructed as sharp edged metal rings. The cutting machine enables foam plastic waste to be cut up for re-use without the occurrence of stoppages due to blockage of the machine by the cut-up matl. which occur in the existing designs.
