Ultrasonic generator with electroacoustic transducer - transducer mounted on base of vibratable cylindrical aluminium block of half wavelength

The ultrasonic generator has an electro-acoustic transducer connected to a metal block and causing it to vibrate in sympathy. - The block's length is equal to half the ultrasonic wave's wavelength. The block (4) is constructed as a regular cylinder and has a radiating surface (5) that is at least twice as large as that (2) of the electro-acoustic transducer (1) and at the most large enough to suppress first and higher order flexural vibrations. The block is made of aluminium or an aluminium alloy. The transducer is mounted in the centre of the block's base (3).
