The grit blasting arrangement consists of a square chamber in which a centrifuge wheel is mounted. A perforated rotating work drum is mounted above the centrifuge wheel with its axis normal to that of the wheel. Most of the blasting grit falls down again and is fed via sloping walls back to the centrifuge. Dust and floating grit are sucked from the top of the chamber into a whirling chamber. The light dust consisting of broken up grit is sucked out of this chamber and fed to a dust collector. The heavy grit which has fallen to the bottom of the whirling chamber is fed by a pump with vaned rotor back to the centrifugal wheel.
