Transportable stand with warning light for marking site boundaries has a cup shaped hollow foot to take a weighting agent. The foot has a level ground surface of large diameter and it extends conically to the upper cup opening. The warning light in the head of the stand has a dry battery providing energy which is incorporated into the hollow foot. The light support is secured to the column of the stand and the stand is secured by a lid covering the hollow foot. A contact plate is in the lid opposite the dry battery. The low centre of gravity provided by the battery and base ballast stand the lamp up again if knocked.
