A mirror reflex device is for a film camera with a truncated conical sector shutter of rotating type mounted somewhat below 45 deg. top the exposure light path. The shutter has a reflecting sector which reflects light through the viewfinder optical system during the blacked out times and conducts it to the viewfinder eyepiece. The rotational axis (9) of the truncated conical shutter (6) is somewhat deviated from the optical axis (2, 20) in the direction of the image window (4). The truncated conical shutter (6) is conducted near to the film (5) by means of a truncated conical shutter rotational guide path in which the edge (18) of the shutter mates with a cutout section (17) in the image window plate (3). The conical shutter (6) may be manufactured from synthetic platic and not metal.
