Electroslag process control - for maintaining constant position of non-consumable electrode in slag bath

Electroslag installations are controlled as a function of electrical parameters in the electric circuit of a consumable electrode and a non-consumable electrode. The control variables for the relative electrical parameters of the consumable and non-consumable additional electrode are utilised and the electrical parameters are measured for this purpose, their relationship is determined and the non-consumable electrode is advanced so as to keep this relationship constant and in line with a predetermined value.
