The stone can be of any shape, and be the size of a shoe or larger. On the reverse side of the stone there can be one or more rods screwed to the stone for securing it to the ground. The rods may be tubular. There may be one or more vertical holes in the stone, in which a flower-vase can be inserted. The top and bottom part of the vase have a larger diameter externally than the middle section. The vase can be inserted from underneath or above. Garden gnomes or other ornaments can be fixed to the stepping-stone which can be arranged in steps. The holes for the vases or ornaments can be sealed by mushroom-shaped stoppers inserted from above, when not occupied. The tops of the stoppers are roughened to prevent slipping.
