Apparatus for investigating of samples by means of flameless atom absorption measurement

The atom absorption measurement process is flameless, and the sample in the chamber is electrically heated and is converted into an atomic cloud, through which a test beam is passed. The window closes the chamber gas-tight; and an inlet for a protective gas is provided next to the window; the testing chamber is a long tube with a length to diameter ratio greater than 8:1; this tube extends beyond the heating zone. The window (1) is made of quartz glass and is made gas tight by a sealing ring (2). It fits inside a tube (3) containing the sample and is in contact with a graphite electrode holding a graphite tube which has a similar electrode holding a graphite tube which has a similar electrode at its far end. There is a small inlet in the tube for the sample.
