Rotary kiln with satellite cooling tubes - supported from kiln casing at points near girth rings

In a rotary kiln for heat treatment of materials, which has a number of satellite cooling tubes near the product outlet end, whose inlets are connected with the inside of the kiln by connecting pipes uniformly distributed around the casing, the satellite tubes are supported on the kiln casing by bearings which allow axial movement of the tubes, the bearing being attached to the kiln in close proximity to a drive or support icing and to the cooling tubes at a point at which the material being treated has already been discharged from the tubes. Distortion of the kiln casing is reduced.
