The table top support is swivel mounted with a guide rod on the fixture plate so that it can move about a horizontal axis into the closed and extended positions. The table top support and fixture plate are connected together by a weight compensating spring and a support guide rod which is swivel mounted on the support so as to be displaceable on the fixture plate and moves in two axes. In its first axis on the fixture plate, the support guide rod is displaceably mounted on a guide on the plate lying at right angles to the plane of the table top in the closed position whilst a jib arm is between the two axes for the guide rod when in the extended position. In the closed position, the table top can thereby lie flat against the front side of the adjoining furniture structure.
