The concrete form tension element incorporates a centre bar and tension cones, each of which consists of a cone of flexible material and a socket for screwing onto the centre bar, with the socket's head sunk in a cutout in the cone, Cone and socket are joined together by a screw thread, and there is a form stabiliser for the cone in the area of the cutout. The pitch of the screw thread can conform to that of the centre bar thread. The form stabiliser may consist of a bowl, pref. of sheet metal with an inner collar, fitting on the side of the cutout in the unstressed cone, and held in place by the head of the socket. When formwork is being dismantled, the cones are easily removed, and any damaged pieces are easily replaced at low cost.
