Index page attachment for magazines - index tabs folded inwards during binding and trimming to prevent inadvertent removal

A method of incorporating index page inside a brochure, catalogue etc., so that the tab which projects from its edge can form an integral part of the index page, and not attached separately by adhesive, and so that the tab is not inadvertently cut off during trimming and binding, makes the width of the index page narrower than that of the signatures to be bound, and the tab is hinged, so that it can be bound with the signatures instead of being secured in the magazine after binding. Thus, with the tab folded over, binding and trimming operations are carried out, then afterwards the tabs extended in the normal indexing position.
