The grill may be used as a barbecue or as a camping grill and it is provided with a fan which is operated by a battery-driven motor so as to direct an air flow to the charcoal in order to facilitate the lighting up process and combustion of the charcoal while cooking is in progress. The exit from the fan may be provided with metal tubes which conduct the combustion air to holes opening into both sides of the charcoal burner. The motor for the blower may be connected to a 100 or 220 V mains electric supply, and there may be four tubes supplying air to the top of the pile of charcoal in the grill.
