The broadband VHF/UHF directional coupler, for common antenna systems, has two sets of transformer windings to coupled out the intput signal and pass it to two loads. Each set of windings consists of a primary (W1) in series between the input (1) and the terminated output (3), an intermediate winding (W2) connecting the primary and secondary windings, and a secondary winding (W3) coupled to the load terminal (6). The primaries of the two sets are coupled in series. Both sets of windings are wound around separate cores and screened from one another by a tubular earthed screen.
