Cct rapidly stopping asynchronous motor - discharging of capacitor producing uniform field for braking effect

The stator winding of the synchronous motor has three connections one of which leads directly to the mains. The other two are selectively switchable with the other mains connection via a three-pole switch to change the direction of rotation. A phase shift capacitor is connected in one of the motor connections of the stator winding. Both selective connections of the motor (5, 6) are coupled with the movable parts of the three-pole switch. In rest position the movable parts are connected together via a capacitor and the motor connections via rectifiers terminated in opposite senses. The discharging of the capacitor produces the uniform field.
