Extruding curved strips of silicon carbide - using extrusion die with curved bore

The die is pref. used in a process for mfg. curved, self-bonded bodies or parts, by the extrusion of a coherent mixt. of finely-divided or powdered silicon carbide and carbon through a die with a curved bore, followed by the debonding and siliconising of the extruded prod. Used for prodn. by extrusion or injection moulding, using extrusion dies or injection-moulding dies, of curved strips of silicon carbide. The process involves the extrusion or injection moulding of a green mixt. of SiC, this being defined as a coherent mixt. of SiC plus carbon suitable for subsequent siliconising.
