Axial thrust measurement on tread rollers for rotary kilns - has end collar for supporting axial loads

The end collar forms an axially acting bearing part, along with an appropriate slipping surface on the tread roller mounting. The deformation of at least one of the axially acting bearing parts under the influence of the axial thrust is measured and indicated according to amount and/or direction. To measure the deformation in the bearing body (5, 6, 9, 10) there is at least one hole (17, 19) running at right angles to the load direction to be measured. In the hole there is at least one strain gauge which is effective in the peripheral direction of the hole. The strain gauge can be fastened to a flexible sleeve (33) inserted in the hole.
