1475789 Adjusting suspension height INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO 27 June 1974 [29 June 1973] 28524/74 Heading B7D In a combine harvester having height adjusting means, each front wheel is secured to a hub 176 on a drive shaft 174 which is mounted in a gear housing 160 bolted to a flange 150 at the end of a front axle bar 140 and carries a gear-wheel meshing with a pinion 162 on an input shaft 175 passing through an opening in the frame 11 of the machine, and the flange 150 is formed with two or more sets of bolt holes 152 which are disposed so that the housing 160 can be swung about the axis of the input shaft 175 for selectively aligning a set of tapped holes in the inner wall 156 with one set of holes in the flange 150. The height of the wheel in relation to the frame 11 can thus be adjusted without disturbing the centre to centre distance of the pinion 162 and gear-wheel 164. The rear wheels 18 of the machine are carried by an axle bar 116 having a projecting pivot shaft 118 rotatably mounted in a bolting fixture 106 having sidewalls 112, 114 which are formed with three rows of holes so that the fixture can be bolted to the frame 11 with the axle bar 116 in a high or a low position.
