Portable digital data recorder - using photographic techniques records combinations of alphanumeric characters from cards and from keyboard

A portable digital data recorder, independent of mains supply records work cards associated with particular workpieces in a factory in which the employers number and machine number might be on cards, whilst other data such as the time are variable and may be keyed into the equipment via a keyboard and photographed on the same microfilm as the cards. The arrangement consists of a flat box in one end of which is mounted a camera the objective lens of which is directed down the length of the box to focus on a plane containing replaceable small cards and an electronic display matrix. The matrix is activated from a small keyboard (3) mounted above the camera, whilst the cards are inserted through slots in the top of the box.
