Coil former for shell core coils - flange between two bushes has blocks on opposite ends to locate coils

The foil former (1) for shell core or pupin coils, consists of a flange (3) with a boss (4, 5) each side over which the wound coils are placed, with a block (9, 10) attached to opposite sides of the flange, each carrying a pair of terminal wires (11, 13 and 14, 15) extending from it, these blocks also helping to locate the coils between them. A wire extending from each side of each coil is then connected to the terminal wires. A slot at opposite ends of the flange, one (21) on the upper face and one (22) on the underside each receives one of the wires projecting from the coils. Finally a cover over each coil has a slot down its side to locate over the corresponding block, so that it retained in position.
