Actuator for valve preventing passage of fire and smoke in a ventilation pipe comprises a spring loaded locking bolt (6) for the valve, and at least one angle lever (10, 11) of which the short arm is under the load of the bolt while the long arm is under the retaining force of a heat-releasable retaining element (13). Pref. there are two angle levers with perpendicular arms of which the long arms are parallel to each other and the short arms are directed towards each other. The retaining element may consist of two discs soldered together with fusible solder and each having a slotted recess.
