The permanent magnetic mechanical operating force amplifier for microwitch magnetic switches etc. consists of permanent magnets mouned on a pivoted rod, acting as switching armatures between two magnetic discs. The discs are linked at their circumferences to the operating lever. Moving the operating lever by a small force causes the discs to rotate and to repel or attract the magnets on the pivoted armature rod. The rod then swings across with increased force and operates some form of energy store in the process. The energy store may be a pawl and ratchet wheel mechanism driving e.g. a spring.
