A sweet-tasting, high-protein food paste for use on bread contains (a) natural fatty acid glycerides, (b) Na caseinate or vegetable proteins, (c) alkali phosphate(s) and/or citrates or tartrates, (d) emulsifiers, (e) sugars or sugar-based prods., and (f) water and/or aq. liqs. The consistency of the paste is such that it can be cut into slices. The prod. can be packaged in slices, in a transparent packing. The flavour can be varied.
