Device for recovery of residual heat from waste gases of boiler of central heating system, for heating purposes, comprises a heat exchanger installed in the flue pipe (3) leading from the boiler (1) to the chimney (2), the waste gases and the returning water to be heated flowing through the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger pref. consists of a flue pipe portion (3) through which extends a return pipe (9) for the water to be heated, the return pipe being pref. a laminar, helical pipe.
