Skin care- and protective compsn. contains 1-20 (3-10) wt% skin moisturiser consisting of di- and/or tri-alkanol-ammonium salts having general formula (H-N(CH2CHOCHR1)-(CH2CHOHR2)R3)+X- (I) (where R1 and R2 are H, 1-4C alkyl or alkoxy; R3 is H, 1-6C alkyl, cycloalkyl, hydroxyalkyl or alkoxyhydroxylalkyl and X- is a halogen or hydrogen sulphate anion or an anion of a 1-4C aliphatic carboxylic acid opt. substd. by -OH, alkoxy or -COOH gps.), pref. the chlorides, acetates, oxalates, fumarates, propionates, succinates, glycolates, lactates, tartrates, malates and citrates. The compsn. may be a day-, baby-, night- and nourishing-, cleansing-, vanishing-, glycerin- and special additive-contg. creams, sun-protective creams and emulsions, face- and shaving lotions.
