Anti-explosion capacitor with safety disconnector - has hollow insulator breaking under overpressure with leads at opposite ends

The explosion-proof capacitor has a disconnecting device, interrupting the connection between the capacitor roll and this electric terminal when the maximum permitted inner pressure is attained in the capacitor casing. The disconnecting device consists of a hollow body of insulating material, which breaks under overpressure. To the opposite ends of this body are secured electric lead wires, which are interconnected by a conductive material, preferably a conductive film on the outer surface of the hollow body. The conductive film is preferably coated with a protective layer. The conductive material may be also formed by a conductive liquid filing the hollow body.
