Ready-to-use horticultural equipment esp. for roof gardens - comprises water-permeable filter mat as base for hydro-culture layer

A ready-to-use set of elements, esp. for use in roof gardens, has a hydro-culture layer of highly porous, water-absorbing matl. A filter mat which is readily water-permeable, is provided as a base for the hydro-culture layer. The filter mats are pref. made of polyamide fibres. The claimed construction ensures adequate oxygen supply combined with good water retention. Nutrients are readily available to plants without risk of the roots getting "drowned" by excess of stagnant water at the bottom of the horti-cultural article.
