The radio-controlled acoustic wrist-watch, for use in factories and laboratories etc., consists of an HF receiver (2) attached to a strap (4) around the wearer's wrist and receiving timing signals from a local HF transmitter. The receiver has a device that switches on the acoustic time display of the watch for a brief interval i.e. the acoust-display is not on continuously. The watch has an aerial and can receive in the VHF or UHF frequency bands, and is powered by a button battery. (The aerial is located in the watch-strap). The advantage of the watch lies in its not being worn behind the user's ear. The loudspeaker (1) is on the face of the watch.
