Disinfectant contg. polyvinyl pyrrolidone and iodine - and hydrogen peroxide added to reduce iodide content and increase iodine content

Disinfectant based on aq. polyvinyl pyrrolidone - I2 solns. contains added H2O2, pref. in concns. of 0.4-20 (2-10) wt.%/wt. total I2 and calculated as 100% H2O2. Available I2 content is increased. H2O2 addn. reduces iodide content, suppresses HI formation, re-converts iodide ions present to I2. Polyvinyl pyrrolidone may have K-value 15-100 (15-50). Total I2 content may be 5-20 % w.r.t. total polyvinyl pyrrolidone-I2 wt. Polyvinyl pyrrolidone-I2 may be used as 5-30 wt. % aq. solns. contg. 0.5-5 wt. % available I2. H2O2 may be used as solns. contg. 30-50 % H2O2.
