The high power factor alternating current regulator for heaters lights etc. has the alternating current source connected to the input diagonal of a diode bridge. The bridge output diagonal supplies the series combination of the load and a variable direct voltage source. The variable voltage source consists of a resistor and a switch in series and both shunted by a capacitor. The switch may consists of thyristors or transistors and may have a regulator with hystereses. This alternating current regulator two-point is of simple construction and allows the alternating current or power to be continuously regulated with a low reactive component.
