The dust extraction and ventilation system for a house, has the extraction unit (5) installed in the cellar (2) adjacent to a chimney, discharging into it by a short tube (6) and interconnected with the living rooms by a line (4) made of plastics tubing, which is embedded in the plaster on the walls, with outlets (3) terminating in flush sockets also embedded in the plaster, and fitted with flaps which when opened, operate a switch to start up the extraction system. The collected dust can then be conventionally discharged into a suitably positioned container (7) housed in the cellar for disposal. Further, suitable fresh air inlets can be installed in positions in the living rooms which are remote from the flush sockets.
