The connector strip, for flat cables, has an outer rectangular ring (4) and an inner rectangular block forming guide channels for the cable conductors (21) when the two are brough together. The inner block has deep parallel slots in its outer surface, and the outer ring has shallow parallel slots on its inner surface. To fit into these two rows of guide channels, the conductors are bent out of the plane of the cable alternately to the left and right. After clamping in the connector, the bared ends of the cable conductor wires are soldered to the printed circuit board. Hooked arms (12) on the sides of the outer ring lock the connector to the board.
