摘要
Exhaust gases from a waste incinerator are treated as follows to prevent the emission of white smoke (a) the gas is cooled, (b) wet scrubbed, (c) cooled with water to a low temp. to dehumidify it and reduce the saturation of the gas (d) released to atmosphere. The final cooling should reduce the gas temp. to within 25 degrees C of the ambient temp. The cooling water used for cooling and scrubbing is itself cooled by contact with atmospheric air and recycled. Alternatively the water can be cooled by an air cooler, some water being fed to the gas precooler. The temp. can be adjusted if desired after the final cooling to control the relative humidity by reheating.
