Sanitary ware made by automated process - ceramic lavatory bowls slip-cast using horizontal stack moulding

Process for the slip-casting of ceramic masses using horizontal stack moulding to make lavatory bowls etc. where the moulds are circulated by being pushed along a track and the adjacent parts of two moulds are joined back to back. The entire mould, except for the base-plate underneath the casting, is removed in stges and then the base-plate is swivelled at 90 degrees to the track, thereby ejecting the casting onto a conveyor which removes the casting. The pref. plant includes a track provided with one set of trolleys carrying the base-plates, and a second set of trolleys carrying two mould-segments joined back to back, another segment being used to close the mould. An automated process for the simple and reliable mfr. of complex castings such as lavatory bowls and bidets.
