The circuitry for a medium frequency inverter is designed to cover high peak loads. A switching transistor in the input circuit is alternately made conducting and blocking by means of a square wave a.c. voltage. The generated a.c. voltage in the primary winding of a repeater is caused to produce one or several stabilized d.c. voltages in the secondary circuit by means of rectifiers. No large storage capacitors or filter chokes are necessary on the secondary side, while on the primary, a much smaller storage capacitor can be installed since a higher working voltage is used in the primary than in the secondary.
