A device for the continuous pitch variation of a plucked instrument in which an extension piece can be slid against the body of the instrument as far as the rotatable string bolder extended throat has the extension piece of the throat connected to the instrument body by a rotating foot or plate which is provided with relatively bearings at boty its ends such that at least one rotating pot or pate is directly connected to the rotatable string holder. Preferably the neck is extended to the rotatable string holder (3) by means of a metal box construction (2).
