The homing head of the projectile is provided with an active or passive target searching and tracking sensor. The sensor accommodated in the homing head used for location and guidance is used simultaneously as a proximity sensor in order to save fitting of an additionally fitted proximity sensor. The target searching and tracking searcher (5) also forms a proximity sensor for the initiation system integrated into the searching head (4) of the projectile (1). The information collected by the proximity sensor during the target location and tracking is used simultaneously for guidance and for triggering of the initiation system. The triggering criterion is a value reached by a steering angle or angular speed of the searching head (4) of a value which exceeds this value.
