The rail fixture system is as applied on wooden or concrete sleepers, as well as in connection with superstructures where there is no ballast, with screws turned into the wooden sleeper or into a wood and plastic dowel plug, fixing underlay plates and/or clamping plates on the sleeper. The screw (14), or its shaft, is anchored in an expanded hole (17), in the sleeper by means of a spreader dowel plug (18), made of thermoplastic rubber or polyester elastomers etc, which encompasses the screw and is pressed against the walling of the hole. The dowel plug may be inserted into the expanded holes with an outer coating of adhesive, and may have external projections to increase friction on the surface. The screws can be reverse-turned later without harm, and sleeper cleaning can be carried out on a damp and/or oily base and at low temperatures.
