Heavy vehicle with tipping cab - allows for forward steering and bonnet which hinges back with cab tipping forward

The design is for a vehicle where the engine is under the driving cab but the cab is situated to the rear of the front wheels. The design provides for access to the engine but still permits forward steering. The layout has a shorter construction and improved safety features particularly for distribution and long distance traffic. The bonnet (11) fits over the front axle (6) in front of the cab (2) and pivots to the rear on the cab at the hinge point (10). The bonnet is connected to the front bumper and to the wings and has ventilating grills for the cabin. There is room for the spare wheel under the bonnet. To obtain access to the engine, the whole cab pivots forward at hinge point (3) after the bonnet has been folded up.
